Revellers join Samhuinn fun
EDINBURGH'S Old Town played host to ghastly ghouls and demons as they followed the Green Man down the Royal Mile.
Thousands of revellers came out to take part in the Samhuinn Festival on Saturday night, enjoying the modern retelling of an ancient story.
It was a Hallowe'en treat like no other, marking the Celtic New Year – the death of summer and the approach of winter – with the story of the Green Man who starts to decay as the seasons draw colder.
The pageant event involved spectacular fire, ritual and drums, and was organised by the Beltane Fire Society.
