Residents on police notice

A SPATE of housebreakings which has seen cars, jewellery and cash stolen, has triggered a security warning from police.

Seven properties in Dunbar, East Lothian, were broken into between Thursday and Monday, and high-value goods taken.

Tablet computers and laptops were stolen during the break-ins in Steadings Gardens, John Muir Crescent, Winterfield Golf Club, Wilson Road, Muirfield Road, Haddington Road and Thurston Home Farm Cottages.

Inspector Bob Rodriguez said: “The victims have been left devastated and anyone who can help us trace those responsible is asked to contact police.

“Our communities are reminded to ensure their properties are appropriately secured at all times and that valuable items and stored safely.”
