Residents aim to make Leith even greener
A MASSIVE council-led clean up will take place in Leith this week.
The second Leith Week of Action will cover the area from Dalmeny Street up to London Road and between Easter Road and Leith Walk.
The council, police and a number of other agencies will be working alongside local residents to raise awareness of the services provided by the partners and will also "blitz" the area to make it cleaner, greener and safer.
Ruth Stanley, community safety manager from the North Neighbourhood Office, said: "We want to make sure the people of Leith know that we are working with the police to make the area a safe, clean and pleasant neighbourhood to live in. This event is about seeing partnership working on the ground and making things better for local residents."
The Parklife event takes place on Saturday at Dalmeny Street Park from 11am until 4pm aimed at children, young people and their families.
