Rail travellers are on track for disruption
RAIL passengers travelling between Edinburgh and Fife are being warned to expect disruption this weekend and next as a result of work to upgrade the route.
Cross Forth services are affected by the track and signalling improvements being carried out by Network Rail.
The main focus will be on signalling and structural works between North Queensferry and Inverkeithing, which will affect all cross-Forth services.
Services to and from Fife will start and terminate at Dalgety Bay for a bus connection, calling all stops to Waverley.
David Simpson, Network Rail Route Director, Scotland said: "We have chosen weekends to carry out this work to minimise disruption at the busiest times."
Jacqueline Dey, ScotRail's Operations Director, added: "We have done everything possible to keep inconvenience to an absolute minimum. Full plans are in place to provide alternative transport arrangements where required."
