Pupils speak on Auschwitz

TWO high school students who travelled to the Auschwitz concentration camp are to speak in public about their experience.

Heather Dunnachie and Kirsten McCormack, of West Calder High School, were flown to Poland in October to visit the camp, which was the largest established by the Nazis.

The sixth years, who have also met a holocaust survivor, will be speaking at an event at the school on Sunday, January 27 from 7pm, to mark this year’s Holocaust Memorial Day.

There will also be a candlelit remembrance ceremony.
