Protest over dolphin killing

PROTESTERS have announced plans to demonstrate outside the Japanese embassy in the Capital to urge an end to the country’s killing of dolphins.

More than 50 protesters are expected to voice their anger on February 22, ahead of a visit by the International Olympic Committee to Tokyo.

Animal rights activists are calling on the IOC to reject Japan as a potential host nation until the country bans the annual slaughter of thousands of dolphins by the fishermen of Taiji.
