Prof's talk on how Scots shaped world

EDINBURGH University is launching a Scottish Centre for Diaspora Studies with a public event featuring Professor Tom Devine.

In The Global Scot: Emigration, Empire and Impact, Professor Devine will examine how and why Scotland came to have such a profound influence on the development of the Americas, Asia, Africa and Australasia in the 18th and 19th centuries.

The event is on Thursday, October 30, at George Square Theatre at 6pm.
