Preston Lodge High School pupils learn to plan finances

PUPILS at Preston Lodge High School in Prestonpans have been learning about money management and the role of a financial planner.

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) delivered its Discover Fortunes initiative recently to give 15 to 17-year-old pupils a real flavour of what a financial planner does and the routes into the sector.

The Discover Fortunes activity aims to demonstrate the importance of money management and how a financial planner can help.

Dylan Bell, principal teacher of pastoral pupil support at the school, said: “All the students appeared to enjoy the event.

“This event was organised as part of the students’ life skills learning and employment programme, and was aimed at those who have a particular interest in careers in the sector.”
