Police road death plea
POLICE have launched a fresh appeal to help trace any motorists who might have witnessed a road collision which saw a pedestrian killed.
John Carrigan, 54, of South Gyle Road, died following the accident in Corstorphine High Street at 6.20pm on Tuesday.
He suffered serious head injuries following the collision involving a blue Toyota MR2. He was rushed to the Western General Hospital for treatment, but his condition deteriorated overnight and he passed away.
Mr Carrigan, who worked as a pipe fitter, had been at the Manse Snooker Club in Manse Road before the accident.
A police spokesman said: “Any motorists who were on the road and can assist officers with their enquiries are asked to contact police immediately.”
