Police plea for drunk fire chief
A POLICE officer who ended up in hospital after a street brawl with a drunken fire crew chief has made a plea for him to keep his job.
Michael Goodman, 37, faces the sack from Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Service after admitting struggling violently with four police officers.
Father-of-one Goodman, who is the crew chief at the Crewe Toll Fire Station in Edinburgh, faces a disciplinary hearing this month.
But at Selkirk Sheriff Court yesterday, the injured police sergeant said he would not like Goodman to lose his job because of "two minutes of madness".
