Police siege at party in Glasgow
TWO men have been taken to hospital and two more detained by police after a disturbance at a property on the outskirts of Glasgow late last night.
The individuals were treated for injuries following a “siege situation” at a house in the upmarket suburb of Newton Mearns in East Renfrewshire.
Fire crews were called to a small fire at Moorhill Crescent around 5pm to find those inside had barricaded the doors shut.
After two hours, two men emerged from the properly and were taken to hospital with minor injuries while the remaining two refused to leave. Police negotiators were brought in and managed to resolve the situation by around 11pm.
A number of those at the party were taken to hospital; two suffered lacerations. A spokeswoman for police confirmed that two men have been detained.
