Police sick days on the increase

THE number of sick days taken by officers from Lothian and Borders Police has increased, new figures revealed today.

THE NUMBER of sick days taken by officers from Lothian and Borders Police has increased, new figures revealed today.

The figures showed that 6581 sick days were recorded among the force’s 2897 officers between April and September, or 3.9 per cent of the available days.

The total was 3.7 per cent for the same period last year.

In Edinburgh and West Lothian, the figure fell slightly, but jumped in East Lothian and Midlothian.
