Police probe separate fires in Capital

POLICE are investigating separate fires which broke out in the Capital over the weekend.

Fire crews rushed to a blaze in a shared stair in Muirhouse Park after receiving an emergency call in the early hours of yesterday morning.

A 46-year-old female and a 21-year-old male were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene but did not require 
hospital treatment.

Shortly before 11pm on Saturday, firefighters were called to another blaze in a property in Cameron Park after thick smoke billowed into an adjacent building. An 80-year-old male and 84-year-old female were treated for smoke inhalation.

Detectives are investigating both incidents.

Teams from Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue are also investigating a third blaze which broke out in a first-floor flat in Oxgangs Gardens just before 8pm on Saturday.

Two men and one woman were checked by medics.
