Police probe after body found in burn

The body of a man was found early yesterday afternoon
in a burn in the south of Edinburgh.

Police are investigating the cause of death and are treating it as “unexplained”.

A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said the body of the middle-aged man was found lying in the water by a member of the public walking his dog in the Forkenford area of Duddingston Road West.

The discovery was made just before 1pm.

A team of officers are investigating the circumstances behind the death, said the force, and the man’s identity will not be released until family have been informed.

There is currently no appeal for information from the public about the incident.
