Police name dead cyclist

Police have named a cyclist who died following a collision with a vehicle in the Scottish Borders on Monday.

Mark Sanderson (53) from Lochrin Place, Edinburgh was riding along the A703 near Peebles when he lost control of his bicycle and veered into the southbound carriageway, colliding with a Fiat Panda.

Inquiries are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident, which occurred around 4:20pm. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact Galashiels Police Station on 01896 664545 or the Force Communication Centre on 0131 311 3131.
