Police name blaze victim

A MAN who died following a fire in a flat has been named by police.

Seamus Cairns, 45, died in hospital after the blaze in Dunbar, East Lothian last week.

Police were called to the scene in a second-floor flat in the town’s High Street at about 11am last Thursday.

Mr Cairns was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, where he died.

Lothian and Borders Police said that there are no suspicious circumstances.

A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
