GRAMPIAN Police are investigating the “unexplained” death of woman in her thirties at a flat in Aberdeen.

The body of the woman, who has still to be named, was discovered in the flat in the city’s Park Road shortly before 6am.

Detective Chief Inspector Martin Dunn, who is heading the enquiry, said: “We are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death and those enquiries are at an early stage.

“The death is being treated as unexplained currently and we would appeal for anyone who saw anything suspicious in the early hours of Wednesday morning to contact us as soon as possible.”

A force spokesman said: “Park Road is currently cordoned off and closed to traffic in both directions. The road is expected to remain closed for several hours and drivers are advised to find alternative routes in the meantime.”
