Police identify Cramond body as David Hugo

Police have confirmed the identity of a man whose body was found on Cramond beach as David Hugo.

Mr Hugo’s body was found by a member of the public on Wednesday, and police were called to investigate.

Officers said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the 54-year-old’s death, but they are continuing with their enquiries into his movements.

A report has been sent to the Procurator Fiscal and anyone who remembers seeing Mr Hugo before Wednesday has been asked to come forward.

He is described as white, around 5ft 10ins tall with a heavy build and grey hair and was wearing dark outdoor clothing and a black rucksack.
