Police hunt elderly driver who approached teenage girl

POLICE are hunting a elderly man with hearing aids who approached a 13-year-old girl while in a 4x4 in a Highland village.

Northern Constabulary issued an appeal for information following the incident in Kingussie on Tuesday afternoon.

The girl was approached at the foot of Tait’s Brae, near Newtonmore Road, between 4.30pm and 4.40pm.

A police spokesman said: “The girl was unharmed as a result of the incident and the vehicle drove off. The vehicle has been described as red and possibly a Ranger Rover or similar 4x4.

“The man is described as being in his 70s, grey hair frail looking and had hearing aids in both ears. He is also believed to be wearing what has been described as a “smart looking,” hat and clothes.

“We are appealing to anyone who may know who this man is to contact them at Aviemore on 01479 810222 or indeed for the man to contact Police himself.”
