Police appeal after fatal collision

Police have issued a fresh appeal for information following a fatal collision on the Edinburgh City Bypass.

Paul Coutts, 35, died after being hit by an articulated Tesco delivery vehicle at around 11.40pm on Friday, June 29.

A number of witnesses have been traced but officers are still keen to speak with the occupants of a car which is thought to have overtaken the lorry around the time of the collision.

A police spokesman said: “Unfortunately we do not have a description of the car. However, given the time of night, there would have been limited traffic on the road and, as the lorry is quite distinctive, someone may remember driving past it.

“Enquiries are ongoing however police are treating this as a tragic accident and are satisfied that no other factors contributed to this fatality.”
