PM's wife at exhibit launch

THE wife of Prime Minister Gordon Brown has launched a new exhibition at North Queensferry's Deep Sea World.

Sarah Brown joined pupils from North Queensferry Primary in opening the new display of plans for the original crossing over the Forth. Plans for the structure were abandoned following the Tay Bridge disaster in 1879.

Mrs Brown, who lives near the visitor attraction, thanked the youngsters for a scale model of the proposed bridge, as well as Deep Sea World for a 400 donation to her charity Piggy Bank Kids.

The exhibition is called The Bridge That Never Was.
