Planned store back on track

A MAJOR supermarket development which was plunged into uncertainty after the construction firm went bust is back on track.

Bosses at property developer Morbaine, which is backing the new Sainsbury’s supermarket in Inglis Green Road, said they were delighted after new builders were appointed to take construction forward.

Patton Construction was originally contracted to build the store but went into administration.

Now, a new team from Barr is on site and plans to complete construction of the supermarket shell by the the summer.

Alex Brodie, director of Morbaine, said: “Barr has a number of store-on-stilts projects already under its belt and I am confident this will be the beginning of a successful new partnership.”
