Photographer catches gang hurling stones
A GROUP of stone-throwing youths were caught in the act as they attacked a bus in Newtongrange yesterday.
An Evening News photographer spotted the group hurling stones at the bus from behind bushes.
There were about six in all who took up position close to the bus stop just before 4pm yesterday.
When the 3A bus stopped, two youths upstairs stood up and began making gestures, appearing to taunt the youngsters on the ground.
They retaliated by picking up stones and hurling them at the bus. The bus driver appeared to be alarmed and moved off quickly. Luckily, the windows were not broken and no-one was injured.
As soon as the attackers saw they were being photographed, they ran off into a piece of wasteland.
