Photo competition winner will become city’s champion

A NEW campaign has been launched to measure the love people have for the Capital.

The ‘I Love My City’ project is the brainchild of CBS Outdoor and is asking citizens of Edinburgh, Glasgow, London, Sheffield, Bristol, Manchester, Cardiff, Leeds, Southampton, Birmingham and Newcastle to take and upload their own pictures showcasing what makes their city so special. The photos on each site will be put to a judging panel and the person who has taken the best one in each town will not only receive photography-based prizes, but will also be crowned as their city’s “Champion.” The winning images will also be showcased to millions of commuters on the London Underground.

Simon Harrington, Marketing Director at CBS Outdoor UK said: “What better time of year to show the love for your city than on Valentine’s Day? Edinburgh has so much to offer and we’re really looking forward to seeing images that come through. We will be monitoring the level of response through our special hashtags and counting the number of photos sent into the site - Edinburgh and Glasgow were both chosen as they are in the top ten urban areas in the UK, but I realise this could ignite a bit of friendly rivalry.”

Manuela Calchini, VisitScotland Regional Director, said: “Edinburgh is famed the world over for being the perfect getaway for couples, with iconic and beautiful locations to while away the hours with a loved one.”

If you want to take part upload your pics to www.lovingedinburgh.co.uk.
