Pervert fled country after photos found on laptop

A PERVERT fled to Bulgaria after his cleaner found indecent photos of young girls on his computer.

George States – who described himself as a £50,000-a-year geographic information systems consultant – said “oops” after his secret was revealed, the High Court in Edinburgh heard.

Advocate depute Susanne Tanner, prosecuting, said the cleaner told police she had seen four photos of girls aged about nine or ten “posing in an inappropriate manner” on a laptop at the flat in Iona Street. Officers then found 265,242 still images and 1233 video clips.

States, 67, was arrested in Bulgaria in August, two years after failing to attend a court hearing. The father-of-three yesterday admitted making indecent photos or pseudo-photos between December 2007 and July 2009. He also pleaded guilty to jumping bail.

He was remanded in custody pending sentence next month.
