Past lives in East Lothian

THE history of East Lothian is to be laid bare in a two-week showcase of exhibitions, talks and workshops launching this Saturday.

Kickstarting the event is the Heritage Festival at Haddington Town House run by local heritage groups from 10am to 4pm, which precedes other activities, such as a guided tour of Drem Airfield and its role in two world wars as well as tours of Dirleton Castle by a costumed man-at-arms.

The event runs until September 16. A full programme is available at county libraries and museums.
