Park goes wild for £19k boost
DALKEITH Country Park in Midlothian will receive a £19,000 boost from a Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) grant to help visitors enjoy the estate grounds and its wildlife.
The country park's ranger service has a programme of activities designed to encourage visitors to enjoy the grounds and the new grant will enable the service to continue for the next three years.
The rangers organise school visits, activities involving the local community and the general public.
Cameron Manson, country park manager at Dalkeith Country Park said: "The estate has always been in the vanguard of environmental education and with this funding we will, in partnership with SNH, aim to improve and widen this vital resource."
