Officials take steps over stair cleaning gripes
COUNCIL officials are to produce a report on the quality of the city's stair cleaning service, following a number of complaints by residents.
The report is to look at the scale and scope of the service in the city, current performance levels, contract arrangements, complaint levels and costs.
Leith councillor Gordon Munro, who had called for the report at a health, social care and housing committee meeting, said: "I have received complaints about the standard of the stair cleaning service. Other councillors have been receiving similar complaints and we need to know the scale of the problem.
"There is also an issue where there is a mixture of council and private owners and the work is not done for the entire stair."
