Odds on for record numbers at racecourse's Ladies Day

MUSSELBURGH Racecourse bosses are expecting a record attendance for its Ladies Day next month.

Only 800 out of 8200 tickets are left with more than four weeks until the June 7 races. Last year, the event became the first ever Scottish race day to sell out in advance. Racecourse bosses are offering an 8000 Suzuki Swift car, from Belmont Suzuki, to the best dressed lady on the day.

Claire Sheppard, commercial manager at Musselburgh Racecourse, said: "We've upped the public sale and it's still not enough because we fully expect to sell our remaining tickets this week.

"We are genuinely blown away by the success of Ladies Day but on the other hand its testimony to all the hard work put in by our team over the years."

Radio DJ and TV presenter Grant Stott, who will compre Ladies Day, said: "Musselburgh leads the field when it comes to putting on stylish events and Ladies Day is now a must-do date on a lot of people's social calendar."
