OAP’s home shot at with paintball gun

A COUNCIL plumber targeted a pensioner’s home with a paintball gun in a drive-by shooting that left her “frightened”.

Liam Blake, 24, fired paint-filled pellets from the window of a moving car at the house in Cuthill Crescent, Stoneyburn, on October 22 last year.

Pensioner Nan Zurinskas, 67, who was having an afternoon nap on her sofa, was woken up by the noise and her grandson noted down the registration number of the offending car.

Blake, 21, of Stoneyburn, West Lothian, pled guilty to culpable and reckless conduct.

His lawyer Hannah Murphy said the “incident was just sheer stupidity”.

“He’s embarrassed at being here today and ashamed of his actions. He accepts what was fun with his friends could have had more serious
consequences.

“He’s never been in trouble before and he is entirely apologetic towards the complainer.”
