AN elderly female pensioner was rushed by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary this morning after being struck by a car in Stonehaven.
The 75 year-old woman, who was seriously injured in the collision, was taken by ambulance under police escort following the accident in the town’s Allardice Street.
The road was closed at its junction with Beachgate Lane while crash scene investigators carried out a detailed examination of the scene.
Meanwhile Grampian Police said that a man had been seriously injured in a one vehicle crash on the B997 Fintray to Kintore road. A force spokesman said the one vehicle collision had taken place around 12.30 pm when the vehicle involved left the road.
He added:”The road is currently closed and local diversions are currently in place. Motorists are advised that the road is expected to remain closed for some time to allow collision investigation to take place.”
