Nuclear victims in missile demo
A GROUP of Japanese atom bomb survivors were due to blockade the Trident nuclear base at Faslane today, protesting at plans to renew the weapon system.
The survivors are from Nagasaki, where more than 70,000 people died after an atomic bomb was dropped on the city at the end of the Second World War.
They were set to take part in a peaceful blockade, bringing water from the Peace Park at the Nagasaki bomb's ground zero.
Mitsugu Moriguchi, who was nine when the Nagasaki bomb was dropped, said: "Deploying and preparing to use this nuclear weapon is to prepare to commit mass murder.
