North Merchiston Cycling Club raise over £1000

A 24-HOUR bike ride has raised funds for a city cycling club.

Leaders at North Merchiston Club said they raised over £1000 for the group after two bikes were placed in Edinburgh’s Festival Square and ridden continuously from noon on February 1 until the same time the following day.

Development officer Jen Wynd, 26, revealed the funds would be used to improve club facilities and said: “It went really well – the public’s generosity was amazing.”
