No sponsor for Emin art show

A MAJOR show by controversial artist Tracey Emin has so far failed to find a sponsor it was reported today.

The exhibition is due to open at the Scottish Gallery of Modern Art in August, and is expected to be one of the highlights of the arts year.

But the gallery has still to find a local or Scottish company to sponsor the show.

Simon Groom, the National Galleries of Scotland's director of modern and contemporary art, called the exhibition a "great coup for Scotland" and said it was "unbelievable" not to secure a backer.

He said he was still in private talks with one possible sponsor.

The show is the first major retrospective of Emin's career and will fill the entire ground floor of the gallery. It will include exhibits such as My Bed, which she entered for the Turner Prize, and newly created work.
