New list MSP takes oath

A FORMER Edinburgh University student has been sworn in as Scotland’s newest MSP.

Jayne Baxter also attended Edinburgh Napier University as a mature student, where she gained a BA in business studies in 1995. She replaces John Park, who left last week to take up a senior post in the trade union movement.

As the next candidate on the regional list, Ms Baxter was automatically appointed without a by-election. She will represent Mid Scotland and Fife.
