New bar for Playhouse

The Edinburgh Playhouse is nearing the completion of a major refurbishment, unveiling a new £130,000 cocktail bar.

A range of backstage facilities have also been completed along with improvements to the foyer, including restoration of the old merchandise desk.

Next month, works will start on a £90,000 revamp of a new pavement area.

General manager Gary Roden said: “For a building with such a rich history which attracts the best shows in the world, it is vital we continue to invest in order to maintain and improve on the standards we have set. We are already planning the next phase of works.”
