National Mod will return to its roots
THE Royal National Mod will be heading back to Oban in three years' time, it was announced yesterday.
The Gaelic festival was initially staged there in 1892 and also as recently as 2003.
Murdo Morrison, the Mod promotions manager, said: "Oban has proved an ideal venue for the Mod in the past and, of course, it was where the Mod first started."
"Argyll is a major area for us, and we are grateful for the support we receive from Argyll and Bute Council and, indeed, for the support they give to Gaelic in general."
