The Naked Rambler has embarked on his journey south after being released from prison

THE Naked Rambler was spotted yesterday beginning his nude trek south following his release from prison.

Police reportedly turned a blind eye to Stephen Gough as he embarked on his journey to England days after being freed from Perth jail.

The 46-year-old spent six years in solitary confinement after being locked up for refusing to curtail his nude walks around the country.

It is understood police have opted to turn a blind eye to the dad-of-two’s pursuits unless responding to complaints from members of the public.

Gough, who refused to wear prison-issue uniform, was spotted travelling from Glenfarg towards Milnathort yesterday.

He told the Sun: “Prison doensn’t scare me. It is supposed to punish and rehabilitate, but it’s done neither for me.

“Freedom is why I am doing this. The naked bit is secondary. So I’ve not won or lost in this battle.

“I’ve not lost time behind bars because I’m still alive and free. And that is how I will stay.”
