Murray given knighthood

RANGERS chairman David Murray was to collect an honour from the Queen today at an investiture ceremony in Edinburgh.

The steel tycoon was to receive a knighthood for his services to business. His portfolio of metals, mining, property and venture capital businesses have made him Scotland's fifth richest man, worth an estimated 750 million.

Around 80 people from across the spectrum of Scottish life, including author Alexander McCall Smith and arts impresario Richard Demarco were to join him in receiving honours from the monarch at Holyrood Palace.
