MSPs urged to join march

LOTHIANS Labour MSP Neil Findlay is urging fellow Holyrood politicians to back a jobs march which aims to recreate the famous Jarrow March of 1936.

The Scottish March for Jobs will take place in October to highlight the 100,000 16-24-year-olds out of work in Scotland, as well as concerns about spending cuts, workfare schemes and the lack of affordable housing.

Mr Findlay has tabled a motion in the Scottish
Parliament urging parliamentarians, trade unions, community groups and individuals to support the march,
organised by the campaign group Youth Fight for Jobs Scotland, between Stirling and Glasgow.
