MSP acts over hedge nuisance

A PROPOSED law to tackle nuisance hedges has taken a step forward by being formally lodged at the Scottish Parliament.

The High Hedges Bill was drafted by North East MSP Mark McDonald, who said the issue can blight lives and cause neighbourhood disputes.

“I am pleased that the bill is now lodged and we have taken another step forward to solve the problem of nuisance high hedges,” he said.

“Over the last few months it has become clear this is a problem that affects households from all parts of Scotland.”
