Mitchell’s mother posts her lie detector test online

a VIDEO showing killer Luke Mitchell’s mother passing a lie detector test over her son’s innocence has been posted on the internet.

Corinne Mitchell’s clip emerged just weeks after Mitchell himself was seen on YouTube, passing a polygraph test in jail, insisting he did not kill girlfriend Jodi Jones.

Mrs Mitchell, 53, said: “Hopefully my video will ram home the message my son was wrongly convicted.”

Mitchell, 24, is serving a life sentence for killing Jodi at Easthouses, Midlothian, in 2003, when they were both 14.

Mrs Mitchell has claimed that her son was at home at the time of the murder.

Polygraph tests are not admissible as evidence in court. Prison authorities were criticised for allowing Mitchell to make his video, though they claimed they did not realise it would be posted on YouTube.

And Scottish Tory chief whip John Lamont criticised Mrs Mitchell’s video. He said: “It’s yet another deeply upsetting development for the family of a murdered girl.”
