Milestone in Edinburgh trams project
EDINBURGH’S trams will be undergoing the most significant tests of its track and vehicles over the next few weeks.
The track between the tram depot at Gogar Castle Road and Edinburgh Airport went live yesterday and testing will begin later this week, with the vehicles making regular trips between the two points.
Presuming all goes well, by March it will be the first major section of the tram line to be completed. It will then be handed over to the City of Edinburgh Council.
The project is years behind schedule and massively over budget.
