Man reported over actor’s death

A MAN has been reported to prosecutors in connection with the death of an actor almost 15 years ago.

The body of Hugh Ferris was found in his flat in Leven Street in Pollokshields, Glasgow, on 12 December, 1997.

Strathclyde Police said a 49-year-old man had been reported to the procurator-fiscal in connection with the death.

Mr Ferris was understood to be a friend of actor and director Peter Mullan, who earlier this year made an appeal over the case.

Mullan, who starred in Braveheart, Trainspotting and War Horse, urged the Crown Office and Strathclyde Police to look into the case again.
