Man hurt in private hire trio assault

A MAN has been attacked by three fellow passengers in a private hire car after an argument broke out between them.

The 42-year-old victim had flagged down the private hire vehicle with three men he did not know after the group opted to share a ride back to their homes.

The car was stopped after the argument erupted and all of the men jumped out at around 4.20am last Sunday at the Boghall Roundabout in West Lothian.

The three suspects then assaulted the victim before making off.

The victim was taken by ambulance to St John’s Hospital for treatment to cuts and bruises to his head and face.

There is no description of the suspects at this time.

A police spokesman said: “The man was left very distressed by this attack and required medical treatment.”
