Man hit in face with hammer

A MAN has been treated in hospital for severe facial injuries after being hit with a hammer.

The 24-year-old victim was attacked and chased by two men along the street before they got into a dark-coloured Peugeot car and drove away.

The incident took place at 7pm on Thursday in Glen Arklet Drive, Paisley, and the man was treated at the town’s Royal Alexandra Hospital and released.

The suspects are both white and in their 20s.

Detective Constable Stephen Gourlay said: “This would appear to be a totally random attack which has left the young man with a broken nose and a severe eye injury.”
