Man fined for CCTV damage

A MAN has been fined after damaging a CCTV camera mounted outside a house.

Steven Baird, 26, was captured by the device itself as he struck it outside a property in Bonnyrigg, Midlothian, on July 3 last year.

Baird, from Mayfield, Dalkeith, admitted striking the camera, damaging it and its mounting, and was fined £200 at Edinburgh Sheriff Court  yesterday.

He was also ordered to pay £37.18 compensation.
