Man dies in Troon house fire

A MAN died in a house fire in Troon, Ayrshire in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters were called to the property at around 12.15am where the blaze was on the ground floor of the two storey building.

The body of a man, who has not yet been identified, was later found.

In a statement the fire service said: “Eight firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were committed into the building and one team quickly found and removed one male adult who was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“A joint investigation is currently being carried out by Strathclyde Fire and Rescue’s incident research and investigation section and Strathclyde Police.”
