Man dies after cardiac arrest

A MAN who suffered a heart attack at the wheel of his car has died.

Ambulance crews and the police were called out to the vehicle in Harbour Place, Portobello, after receiving an emergency call from a passer-by just before 8am yesterday.

The man, said to be in his sixties, was in cardiac arrest and received CPR from paramedics at the scene before being taken to the ERI, where personnel were unable to revive him.

Police officers said they discovered minor damage on the car but were not treating the incident as a road traffic accident.
