Man denies order breach

A MAN has appeared in court to deny breaching the terms of a Sexual Offences Prevention Order.

Robert Greens, 35, pleaded not guilty at Edinburgh Sheriff Court to two charges alleging he broke the Sexual Offences Act 2003 in October last year.

He is accused of approaching a woman and talking to her without having a reasonable excuse at Edinburgh Road, Penicuik, and entering an area of Penicuik and an address in Auchendinny, Midlothian, that he was forbidden to be in. Both incidents are alleged to have taken place on October 24.

The Crown claims the SOPO bans Greens from approaching or instigating unsolicited contact with any adult female unless such contact is
“incidental”.

Greens is due to stand trial later this month.
